Alex, born in 1988, gay, living with HIV since 2018
Hi there – I’m Alex from Hamburg, and I’m here for you.
If you’ve just received your HIV diagnosis, or you’re feeling unsure, or you simply need someone to talk to: You’re not alone. I know how that feels, and I want to show you that life goes on. One step at a time.
I’m gay and I tested positive in 2018. The diagnosis knocked me off track back then. I had so many questions, so much guilt, and so much fear. Thankfully, someone was there for me, and he listened, understood me, and showed me that living with HIV doesn’t mean the end of life. It means moving forward with new possibilities.
Today I’m doing well. I take my medication every day and I live a perfectly normal life. I love traveling and spend a lot of time with my friends. HIV is part of my life, but it doesn’t define me.
If you have questions, want to talk, or just want someone who can imagine how you feel: write to me. We can talk on the phone, go for a walk, or just chat — whatever works for you. You can come to me with anything, no matter how you identify or where you are in your journey.
You are welcome. You are not alone. And whatever you share stays confidential.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
Alex
