Gerhard, positiv since 2011
Hi, my name is Gerhard and I would like to introduce myself briefly: My hobbies are running, cycling, stand up paddling, swimming and last but not least arts. Since 2008 I live in an open relationship. My partner lives in Osnabrück while I live and work in Berlin.
During a routine check in 2011 I was tested HIV positive. Of course I first was devastated and thought: “Everything will change now – nothing will stay as good as it was”. Today I can say that my worries didn’t become true at all. Furthermore several aspects have even changed to the better. I’m healthy, I work, I live, I love and all of that I enjoy a lot!
To achieve this I most of all had to learn to accept my HIV infection. Slowly I started even to recognize some positive aspects of my infection. Nowadays I take better care of my health. I also was surprised about the positive reaction by others when I first told them about my infection. And after a while it was clear to me that I wanted to share my good experience with people that only recently were diagnosed positive.
As your Buddy I would like to encourage you in a personal meeting to accept your diagnosis. This enables you to continue the joyful life you lived so far. Despite HIV you will experience also in the future many good and enjoyable things happening in your life. I can share with you the experience I made and I will help you to find any professional support you may need. All this is worthwhile since HIV positive people are lucky to have a very positive life expectancy.
I look forward getting to know you personally, please contact me now.
